A Word From Our Principal

As we walked through the doors of Lighthouse Christian Academy on August 19th, 2010, there was an overwhelming sense of excitement. New principal, new teachers, new students, new classes – this year was definitely a year of change. And as we entered into the first day of school, I challenged each of you to seize your opportunity.
Life offers you many opportunities, but it is up to you to take advantage of them. It is up to you to stand up and say, "That’s mine for the taking, and I’m not going to let anything hold me back." I was encouraged as many of you did just that. Many of you said, I want to be this in life. Or, I want to go here in my walk with the Lord. That was good.
But what about right now? Looking over the past three and a half months, what have you accomplished? Are you still on that path to success – academically, physically, spiritually and socially? Have you made friends with the new kids, or have you maintained that desire to be health conscious? The good news is if you have allowed the routine of the classroom to distract you, you can pick up where you left off. I want to encourage you to refocus and seize that opportunity! Don’t wait until January rolls around to start refocusing. Go into this holiday season with a desire to get back into the classroom and be all that you can be. Don’t fall prey to the spirit of mediocrity that would suggest you do barely enough to get by. Be more – do more.
It’s still time to seize the opportunity.
