A New Year Calls for New Things!!

With this new school year, Lighthouse Christian Academy has introduced a lot of new things! From a couple new teachers, to new programs and "clubs" to make school a lot more fun, LCA has a lot of exciting, new things going on!!

New Principal

We'd like to make a very special welcome to our new principal, Bro. Brandon Morrell! He's been very active in this school in some way for about five years total. He is very passionate about what he does, and has put a lot of time and effort into doing everything he can to make this year the best yet!

New Teachers

Welcome to our new teachers, Sis. Stacy Waldrep, who is teaching the first and second grades and Sis. Tiffany Bailey, who is teaching the third and fourth grades. Both have children in the school and are very dedicated to their job!  

New Student Council Representatives

We'd like to give a big congratulations to our new student councils representatives. 

Congratulations to Diamond Anderson as the third and fourth grades' representative, Jeremy Stiles as the fifth and sixth grades' representative, Kelsi Morrell as treasurer, Brooklyn French as secretary, Jonathan Waldrep as vice president, and Trenton Bundy as president! 

100 Club

The 100 Club is a program to promote and reward students who make perfect grades on their assignments. Each time a student gets a 100 on an assignment they, receive a star that they can post on the wall. Once a class gets 100 stars, they receive a treat. Each classroom reached 100 stars, and we had a school-wide celebration during the last hour of school (more on this to come). As a parent, please encourage your student(s) to strive every day to excel in every area of their work!

The LCA Mint

This year, to reward the students for being at school and doing their work on time, etc., the "LCA Mint" has been developed. Each day, if a student is present, they receive $20 in LCA Mint Cash. If they complete all their work for that day on time, they receive another $10. Almost every Friday at 2 P.M., Sis. Billy Stewart, Bro. Morrell, and volunteers Sis.Zanadee Williams and/or Sis. Hope White open up the "LCA Mint Store". Each class gets to go look at all the cool things they can buy with their Mint Cash. There's something for every age in that store, from little toys and books, to candy, to awesome certificates for things like off campus lunches, casual days, QT runs, "be principal for a day", and lots more!! The students really enjoying being rewarded for doing good in school. 

New Students

Last, but definitely not least, we'd like to give a great big welcome to all of our new students this year!! We decided to ask a few of them from various grades what it was that they liked about attending Lighthouse Christian Academy.
